Load and Haul Superintendent

Kalgoorlie Consolidated Gold Mines Pty Ltd (KCGM) is seeking a dynamic and passionate Load & Haul Superintendent to provide leadership within the Mining Open Pits Department at the Fimiston Superpit operation.

This is a residential role on a 8/6 roster.

Reporting to the Manager Mining – Open Pits, this integral position in the Open Pits Leadership Team provides leadership and mentoring to the Open Pit Load and Haul Team, ensuring the team is performing optimally. This includes maintenance of stockpiles and achievement of total material movement being achieved according to the Mine Plan in a coordinated, cost effective, timely and safe manner.

The successful incumbent should have the ability to act as the Manager Mining – Open Pits in their absence.

  • Minimum of ten (10) years open pits hard rock mining experience, including at least eight (8) years at a senior leadership level in a medium to large operation

Production Shovel Operator

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Shovel Operator at Kalgoorlie Consolidated Gold Mines Pty Ltd (KCGM).

Reporting to the Supervisor, the successful candidate will be responsible for effectively and safely operating a Komatsu PC8000 shovel, as well as other mobile plant as directed, to ensure targets outlined in the Open Pit mining schedule are achieved in a safe and timely manner.

The Shovel Operator works a residential roster – 7 on, 7 off , 12 hour days and nights.

Crew Trainer - Mining Open Pit

This is a residential role on a 7/7 even time roster, and is a 6 month Fixed Term opportunity.

This residential role will be responsible for coordinating and delivering site and area specific training, including on-line and face to face facilitation to ensure personnel are appropriately trained and up skilled to the correct level in order to complete all required tasks of their position in a safe and efficient manner.

This role involves working primarily in an office based environment at KCGM’s Fimiston site on a day roster, however frequent and regular field work and in-field support will be required as part of the role.

Geology Technician

This Geology Technician position will see you assisting in the collection and processing of geological samples to ensure the provision of timely and accurate data for analysis by Geologists.

Underground Drill & Blast Engineer

KCGM is currently seeking an experienced and dynamic Underground Drill and Blast Engineer to be part of the Mt Charlotte Technical team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for generating, scheduling and implementing short term Drilling, Blasting and Ancillary mine plans to achieve the operational plan in a safe and cost effective manner. This involves coordinating production activities with the Underground Production Superintendent to safely achieve production plans, and providing technical support to Underground Supervisors and crew members.

The role takes on a variety of essential tasks, including (but not limited to) daily and weekly data management for reporting purposes and stock take management of production drill and blast consumables to ensure the operation is provided with the tools and resources to maintain the safe underground production.

This is a residential role on an 8:6 roster, working 11 hour day shifts.

These residential positions are on an even-time roster, working 12 hour shifts on both days and nights, providing a great work-home life balance.

As a Process Technician, you will undertake daily general plant activities in both the Fimiston Mineral Processing Plant and Gidji Operations. This will include monitoring and maintaining assigned operations and equipment within the plants to optimize circuit availability and gold recovery, safely and efficiently.

Requirements

  • A minimum of two (2) years experience in a similar Process technician or Utilities technician position
  • Current Working at Heights and Confined Space tickets within two (2) years of age
  • Solid mechanical aptitude
  • Metalliferous Mining qualifications or study thereto highly regarded, but not essential
  • High Risk Licences (LF, LS, WP) highly regarded, but not essential
  • Well developed written and verbal communication skills
  • Intermediate level of computer skills
  • Ability to work in outdoors conditions, completing regular active tasks

Underground Electrician

An exciting opportunity now exists for an experienced Underground Electrician to be part of the Mt Charlotte maintenance team.

This is a residential role on a 7:7 roster, working 12 hour shifts, both days and nights.

The successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking preventative and breakdown maintenance of the underground fixed plant, such as ventilation, pumps, power reticulation systems, winders and comms systems, ensuring maximum availability for production.

Key accountabilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintain and repair electrical components associated with underground mobile plant, ventilation, pumps and power reticulation systems to ensure the availability of the above resources, in accordance with the mining schedule.
  • Undertake electrical maintenance and repair of the underground winder to ensure availability of the winder for daily transport and as a secondary egress.
  • Undertake maintenance and repair of underground communication systems, including but not limited to, vehicle and machinery radio units as well as underground telecommunication systems to ensure the continuous availability of the above resources.

Requirements

  • Australian Trade Qualification of Electrician
  • Current Western Australian “A” Class Electrical Workers Licence
  • Minimum two (2) years post-trade experience in Underground electrical maintenance field
  • Excellent planning, time management and organisational skills
  • Solid computer skills, and regular usage in Microsoft Excel, Oracle highly regarded
  • Must reside in the Goldfields region for this residential position
  • National Police Clearance (valid within the last 12 months)
  • Current unencumbered Western Australian “C” Class Driver’s License.
