Senior Shift Supervisor

Reporting to the Load and Haul Superintendent, the successful candidate will oversee and coordinate the Open Pit Load and Haul function, including Loading, Ancillary and Hauling Supervisors, ensuring optimization and safe delivery of production targets.

This is a residential position on an even time 7:7 Roster.

Trainee Truck Operator Program

A KCGM Truck Traineeship is a 24 month fixed term opportunity where you would work and gain experience towards a Certificate III in Surface Extraction.

Production Shovel Operator

Reporting to the Supervisor, the successful candidate will be responsible for effectively and safely operating a Komatsu PC8000 shovel, as well as other mobile plant as directed, to ensure targets outlined in the Open Pit mining schedule are achieved in a safe and timely manner.

The Shovel Operator works a residential roster – 7 on, 7 off , 12 hour days and nights.

Crew Assessor - Mining Open Pit

This is a residential role on a 7/7 even time roster, and is a 6 month Fixed Term opportunity.

This residential role will be responsible for coordinating and delivering site and area specific training, including on-line and face to face facilitation to ensure personnel are appropriately trained and up skilled to the correct level in order to complete all required tasks of their position in a safe and efficient manner.

This role involves working primarily in an office based environment at KCGM’s Fimiston site on a day roster, however frequent and regular field work and in-field support will be required as part of the role.

Having already produced over 60 million ounces the Golden Mile still has plenty of secrets to uncover and ounces to find. We are looking for an experienced exploration and resource definition geologist to help unlock the potential and extend our mine life.
Key Functions:
• Lead a team of enthusiastic exploration and resource definition geologists and technicians with various experience levels through coaching, mentoring and support
• Enhance the departmental and exploration contractors safety culture and performance
• Understand the needs of the customer (OP and UG mining and geology teams) and provide accurate and up to date information including resource models and geometallurgical data.
• Create and track departmental budgets including capital, exploration and resource definition drilling and organisation structures.
• Liaise with regional exploration, mine geology and long term planning teams to extend the life of mine (LOM) throughout theKCGM portfolio.
• Manage numerous drill rigs between multiple project areas through effective scheduling and communication
• Identify and test new technology and methodologies to improve geological understanding and efficiencies within the department.

Requirements
• A Tertiary Qualification (minimum degree level) in Geology or a related discipline.
• Solid experience as a geologist predominantly within exploration but also within both open pit and underground mining environments.
• Proven success in a leadership role involving management of a professional teams and external contractors.
• Broad geological experience and supervision in the design and supervision of drilling (RC & Diamond), sampling and QAQC programmes.
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience in sampling, QAQC, block modelling, advanced grade estimation techniques, and reconciliation.
• Familiar with budgeting cycles and the preparation and development of budgets and building strategic business plans.
• Relevant Professional Association membership (AusImm or MAIG).
• Ability to think strategically and commercially, approach solutions creatively and consider organisation-wide impacts.
• Well-developed interpersonal and people management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present to all levels of the organisation.
• Unencumbered Western Australian “C” class manual drivers licence.

Geologists

Kalgoorlie Consolidated Gold Mines Pty Ltd (KCGM) is currently seeking multiple full time Geologists to join the Geology Department at the Superpit and Mt Charlotte Operations in Kalgoorlie.

Working a residential, family friendly roster (8:6), the Geologists are responsible for a variety of geological-based tasks, which may include, but are not limited to;

  • Delivering the optimal ore grade to the Mineral Processing Plant, through accurate identification of mineralisation, delineation of ore blocks, and supervision of extraction to minimise dilution.
  • Conducting exploration which could lead to discovering viable ore bodies which will increase KCGM’s Life Of Mine.
  • Scheduling, supervision of RC drilling programs, modelling of the resulting data, core logging and data entry, and providing technical support to the operational team during mining.

These roles can be based in the Open Pit, Underground and with the Exploration teams, and provide a variety of support to the Geology Department and teams across different areas of the KCGM lease.

These residential positions are on an 8 / 6 roster, working 11 hour shifts.

This position will see you assisting with the coordination of grade control drilling, as well as the collection and processing of geological samples to ensure the provision of timely and accurate data for analysis by Geologists. The role supports the geology team to maximise the extraction of ore mined through ore spotting and assisting with ore mark ups. Whilst predominantly operating within the Fimiston Open Pit, the role may be required to operate across KCGM’s operations.

As a Shift Utilities Technician, you will undertake the safe operation of mobile equipment, such as loader, water cart, bobcat and integrated tool handler, and ensure housekeeping is maintained to a high standard within the KCGM operation. The successful candidate will also maintain and clean trash bunkers, load the feeder, complete dust suppression, cleanup duties and conduct other general operational and housekeeping duties throughout their work space.
