Trainee information sessions are run by KCGM’s Recruitment team and provide an overview of the program and an opportunity to ask questions. Senior Mobile Maintenance Planner - Heavy Mobile Equipment (HME)

Kalgoorlie Consolidated Gold Mines Pty Ltd (KCGM) is currently seeking an experienced Senior Maintenance Planner – Heavy Mobile Equipment for the Open Pit Department at the Fimiston Superpit operation.

Responsible for leading an efficient team of planners, schedulers and reliability engineers within the Mobile Maintenance team, the Senior Planner will ensure all aspects of the mobile maintenance plan are achieved within budget and cost KPI’s. To ensure continuous improvement in alignment with KCGM longer term strategies, the Senior Planner will produce weekly/monthly reports on planning KPI’s and carry out GAP analysis.

This role is key to developing the maintenance strategy for all Open Pit fleet, including Cat 793 Haul trucks, Komatsu PC8000 dig units, multiple Ancillary units, and Light vehicles. Reporting to the Mine Maintenance Superintendent, the Senior Planner will provide leadership through coaching, mentoring and developmental activities to members of the team driving a positive workplace culture that reflects KCGM’s Values.

This residential role is a 5 on 2 off then 4 on 3 off fortnightly day roster.

Requirements

Essential

  • Australian Trade Qualification or Degree in Engineering
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in Maintenance Planning working in mining or heavy industry with strong working knowledge of CMMS to maintain maintenance strategies and budgets.
  • A strong understanding of Asset Management processes and practices in particular, Work Management, Defect Elimination, O4R, Metrics and Shut Management.
  • Experience using budgeting tools and solid knowledge whole life cycle cost modelling.
  • Previous experience in strategic planning for mobile equipment.
  • Demonstrated ability to diagnose problems and identify potential solutions by thinking outside of the box to deliver alternative outcomes.
  • Leadership and/or supervisory training. Exposure to performance management of team members using ability to coach, mentor and influence others in a positive manner.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills enabling liaison at all levels of the organization.
  • Reside locally within the Goldfields region, or willing to relocate.
  • National Police Clearance – valid within the last twelve (12) months.
  • Current Unencumbered Western Australian “C” Class Drivers License.

Preferred

  • Familiarity with the Mines Safety and Inspection Regulations
  • Familiar with using Pronto to develop maintenance strategies, work requests and purchase requisitions
  • Completed frontline leadership or recognised leadership courses
  • Hold a Cert 4 in training and assessing

Ancillary Supervisor - Load and Haul

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Ancillary Supervisor at Northern Star Resources’s KCGM Site, the Superpit.

Reporting to the Load and Haul Coordinator, the Ancillary Supervisor will efficiently direct and monitor Ancillary and All Round activities in the Fimiston Open Pit (Superpit) to ensure that production targets are achieved in a timely and safe manner within the guidelines of statutory requirements and KCGM standards.

This residential position is an even time 7 on, 7 off roster, working 12.5 hour shifts, days and nights.

REQUIREMENTS

The successful candidate must possess the following attributes:-

Essential

  • A minimum of five (5) years’ operation of various mining machinery in an open pit mining or quarry environment.
  • A minimum of two (2) years’ supervisory experience of large crews.
  • Strong understanding of mining sequence process and activities.

Trainee Truck Operator Program

Crew Assessor - Mining Open Pit

Kalgoorlie Consolidated Gold Mines Pty Ltd (KCGM) is currently seeking an experienced Crew Assessor for the Mining Open Pits Department at the Fimiston Superpit operation.

This is a residential role on a 7/7 even time roster, and is a 6 month Fixed Term opportunity.

This residential role will be responsible for coordinating and delivering site and area specific training, including on-line and face to face facilitation to ensure personnel are appropriately trained and up skilled to the correct level in order to complete all required tasks of their position in a safe and efficient manner.

This role involves working primarily in an office based environment at KCGM’s Fimiston site on a day roster, however frequent and regular field work and in-field support will be required as part of the role.

Geologists

Join Team KCGM

Kalgoorlie Consolidated Gold Mines Pty Ltd (KCGM) is currently seeking multiple full time Geologists to join the Geology Department at the Superpit and Mt Charlotte Operations in Kalgoorlie.

Working a residential, family friendly roster (8:6), the Geologists are responsible for a variety of geological-based tasks, which may include, but are not limited to;

  • Delivering the optimal ore grade to the Mineral Processing Plant, through accurate identification of mineralisation, delineation of ore blocks, and supervision of extraction to minimise dilution.
  • Conducting exploration which could lead to discovering viable ore bodies which will increase KCGM’s Life Of Mine.
  • Scheduling, supervision of RC drilling programs, modelling of the resulting data, core logging and data entry, and providing technical support to the operational team during mining.

These roles can be based in the Open Pit, Underground and with the Exploration teams, and provide a variety of support to the Geology Department and teams across different areas of the KCGM lease.

Geology Technician

KCGM is currently searching for Geology technicians to work alongside a dynamic team in the Geology Department.

These residential positions are on an 8 / 6 roster, working 11 hour shifts.

This position will see you assisting with the coordination of grade control drilling, as well as the collection and processing of geological samples to ensure the provision of timely and accurate data for analysis by Geologists. The role supports the geology team to maximise the extraction of ore mined through ore spotting and assisting with ore mark ups. Whilst predominantly operating within the Fimiston Open Pit, the role may be required to operate across KCGM’s operations.

Reporting to the Environmental Superintendent, this senior position will be responsible for coordinating the environmental legal compliances, monitoring, approvals and permitting, reporting and ongoing development of environmental programs.

The successful applicant will possess the following qualifications, skills and experience:-

Essential

  • A degree in Environmental Engineering, Science or equivalent.
  • A minimum of seven (7) years’ experience in an Environment Officer / Advisor role.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels of the business.
  • Advanced MS-Office and Database skills.
  • Previous experience with Western Australian mining project approvals, land tenure and Part IV and V Environmental Protection Act processes.
  • Presentation skills with experience in training and communication sessions.
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in environmental approvals and legal reporting.
  • Compliance auditing and reporting.
  • Self-motivated and with good time management skills.
  • A high level of planning and analytical skills.
  • Must reside in the Goldfields region, or be willing to be relocated to Kalgoorlie.
  • Current Unencumbered Western Australian “C” Class Drivers Licence.

Preferred

  • GIS Skills (advanced).

These residential positions are on a 5/2 roster, working 10 hour days, providing a great work-home life balance.

KCGM is currently on the look out for Experienced Process Technicians to join our Fimistion and Gidji Processing Teams.

These residential positions are on an even-time roster, working 12 hour shifts on both days and nights, providing a great work-home life balance.

The Process Technician reports to the Shift Supervisor, and the primary role is to operate all sections of the processing plant which include, Crushing, Grinding, Flotation, Leaching, and Elution, in accordance with Specified parameters, to optimize gold production/recovery. This includes basic maintenance of the operational equipment within the Processing Department.

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the position performs preventative, planned and breakdown mechanical maintenance for the KCGM Fimiston and Gidji Gold processing circuits, ensuring optimum operating conditions are achieved, with ongoing efficiency and reliability.

Required skills and experience:

  • Australian Nationally Accredited Trades Certificate in Mechanical Fitting and/or Fitter Machining.
  • Minimum of two (2) years mechanical maintenance experience, mine site-based preferred.
  • High Risk Work Licences, such as LF, WP, DG, RA – preferred.
  • Confined Space and Working at Heights qualifications – preferred.
  • Demonstrated intermediate level of computer literacy, with experience on Maintenance Management Systems.
  • High commitment to safety is essential.
  • Must reside locally  within the Goldfields region, or willing to relocate for this residential role.
  • National Police Clearance – valid within the last twelve (12) months.
