In line with KCGM's commitment to the community the company has a 24-hour Public Interaction Line (PIL) - (08) 9022 1100.
The purpose of the line is to enable members of the community to contact KCGM on a wide range of issues including emergencies, complaints, enquiries and feedback. Both the public and the KCGM workforce are encouraged to use the Public Interaction Line on any matter relating to the operations and it is a particularly important avenue for capturing those issues which require follow up and action in an efficient, timely manner.
The feedback from PIL is very effective in helping to make KCGM aware of issues that are concerning the community as awareness of any problem means that KCGM can then facilitate a solution to the concern. PIL is also backed by an electronic database which means all calls coming through the line are captured and delegated to the most appropriate person for the enquiry and where required suitable, follow-up action items are put in place.
During business hours, PIL enquiries are forwarded immediately to the relevant department supervisor to take the required action. Incoming calls received outside office business hours may be forwarded to the shift supervisor for immediate action or where appropriate will be followed up the next working day.
KCGM responds to all people who contact the inquiry line either by phone or in writing and in some cases, direct personal contact can follow, depending on the nature of the call.
The Public Interaction Line number is available 7 days a week, 24 hours a day.
The Super Pit Shop provides an avenue where public enquiries can be made in person. The Shop is manned by KCGM's Community Relations Team and is located off the Goldfields Highway, 1.5km north of Hannan Street. It is open Monday to Friday from 10am – 3pm. Closed public holidays and weekends.
