Alan Birchmore, is an amazingly talented businessman, who amongst his many credentials (instrumental in the development of Argyle Diamond Mine, recent juggernaut for change at the Albany Port Authority, Chair of WA Ballet Company - to mention only a few) just happens to have been instrumental in the creation of KCGM. I was privileged to meet up with him for a coffee in Perth to discuss the often mistold story of KCGM’s birth. |

To date there has been a reduction in the number of safety incidents and injuries and this reflects well on the efforts of everyone. Our challenge for the year will be to reduce our all injury frequency rate to 18 or less. To achieve this we can only afford 43 incidents through the year, or just over 3½ per month. So far we are averaging 2½, which is a great way to start the year as we will hope to improve further. |
