The 6 Core Values – helping make KCGM a better place to work!
Our 6 Core Values are a very important part of KCGM and are the foundations upon which our culture is built. Our 6 Core Values have been designed to create a clear understanding of what is important, valued and acceptable at KCGM.
1. Lead in safety, the environment and social responsibility - Setting maintaining and continually improving standards by being conscious of the impact of the actions that yourself and those around you take.
2. Behave like an owner - Treating people, equipment, everything as your own, and showing that you really care.
3. Act with a sense of urgency - Getting the job done in a safe, timely manner by prioritizing, using initiative and using available resources effectively.
4. Be a team player - Working together to achieve the same goal by respecting, communicating and contributing in an honest, open, supporting and trusting environment.
5. Continually improve - Positively evolving and being open to change so that we can remain profitable and competitive.
6. Deliver results - Consistently delivering on identified targets and objectives.
Ultimately, our Core Values are the guideposts for decision making, actions and behaviours at KCGM. Our expectation is that our workforce will incorporate the Values into everything we do on site and in the local community.

What dies to mean to you “Act with a sense of urgency?”
“Act with a sense of urgency means to do as quickly as possible, if something is urgent it is of high priority and needs to be responded to immediately. As long as whatever it is that is urgent is done within a safe guideline.”

“Sense of urgency means to not drag your feet, when there are things to do, do it, that’s what you’re paid for. I find acting with a sense of urgency also makes the day go a lot quicker and makes you realise just what you can achieve. This is a value I live outside KCGM also, as it seems to create more time in a day, so if I can get the chores out of the way leaves more time to enjoy life.”
